At ALIBI BJJ Academy, we aim to provide the best possible experience for all of our members. To ensure smooth processing and a clear understanding of our policies, please take note of the following. Our community is built on mutual trust and respect, and we believe clear policies contribute to its continued growth.

Important membership details

Understanding our membership rules is straightforward and designed for your convenience. We have structured this information to be easy to read, ensuring you have all the necessary details at your fingertips. Our goal is for every member to clearly know the rules regarding their membership.

Cancellations ,Freezing and refunds

Memberships at Alibi BJJ Academy are managed via direct debit with no long-term contracts. To cancel your membership, please email us at: alibibjj@martialartswoking.com. We require one paid month’s notice on cancellations. Memberships, the £25 sign-up fee, and the annual insurance fee are strictly non-refundable.

Membership Freeze Policy:

We know life can get hectic—due to work commitments, travel plans, or personal schedules. Every member at Alibi BJJ Academy is entitled to one membership freeze per calendar year under the following terms:

 Freeze requests must be submitted in writing at least 14 days before your next payment date.

 The maximum freeze duration is 2 months.

 Freezes apply to full monthly billing cycles only (no partial months or weeks).

 A £20 monthly freezing fee applies to adults, and a £15 monthly freezing fee applies to children. This fee holds your permanent spot on the mats active and protects it from our waiting lists.

 If training is not resumed after the 2-month maximum limit, the membership will automatically close and the spot will be permanently released. Re-joining later will be subject to current waiting lists, updated membership pricing tiers, and the standard sign-up fee.

Injury Freeze Policy:

 Injury freeze requests will be accepted upon provision of a valid doctor’s note.

 Injury freeze requests must be submitted at least 5 days before your next payment date.

 No payments or maintenance fees will be taken during an approved medical injury freeze period.

 Membership billing and training will resume once you are cleared by your doctor or after the agreed freeze period ends.

Important Notes regarding Freezes:

A membership freeze does not replace or count towards your 1-month cancellation notice. If you decide to cancel, you must provide the standard one full month of paid notice after your freeze ends. This freeze is designed to offer flexibility—not as a mechanism to bypass the cancellation notice.

 

Explanation: What Does "One Full Month of Paid Notice" Mean?

 Scenario A (Under 1 Month Notice): If your next payment date is November 15th, and you submit your cancellation notice on November 2nd (13 days' notice), your November 15th payment will still be collected. This payment covers your membership through to December 15th. Your membership will officially end, and your account will close, on December 14th.

 Scenario B (On Payment Day): If you submit your cancellation notice on your exact payment day (November 15th) or within two days after it, no further payments will be collected, and your membership will officially end on December 14th.

 Mat Access: You are fully entitled to attend classes and use your membership normally until the final day your account closes.

Changes to Membership Fees and Policies:

We reserve the right to amend academy policies or membership fees. In the event of a fee increase or policy adjustment, you will be notified 14 days in advance, and the new terms will apply from your next scheduled deduction.

Sign-up fee

A one-time sign-up fee of £25 is required for new members when joining (£10 insurance plus £15 admin fee). This fee is non-refundable and must be paid at the time of registration.

Annual member insurance fee

After the initial sign-up, an annual insurance fee of £10 will be automatically deducted every year on the anniversary of your registration date.
